Donald B. Blackmon, P.E., M. ASCE (BSCE, The Citadel) is a Professor of Practice, Freshman Engineering Advisor, and Director of the Leadership Academy in the William States Lee, III College of Engineering at UNC Charlotte.  Don spent thirty-four years as an engineer, supervisor, manager, director, and vice president of engineering for a local investor-owned electric utility and its subsidiary companies before joining the UNC Charlotte faculty.  He served as an adult leader with the Boy Scouts of America for 40 years.  Advising freshman engineering students, directing the College of Engineering Leadership Academy, and serving as lead instructor for the Introduction to Engineering and Introduction to Engineering Technology and Construction Management courses effectively combines his passions and experience.
